Privacy and Cookies Policy

Kay Cook Hypnotherapist, accessible at http://www.newhorizons-hypno.com, takes the privacy of her customers and visitors to her website very seriously. This Privacy Policy Statement refers to types of information that are collected and recorded and how this is used. I am a Data Controller of your information. My legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the information collected and the context in which it is collected:

  • Our mutual needs to establish and agree working arrangements with you concerning the provision of hypnotherapy services as offered by this website.
  • In contacting me / pursuing hypnotherapy you have given me permission to hold the personal information which is legitimately required.
  • In compliance with the law I only hold information which I need to hold and for no longer than necessary. For example, your name is recorded when processing my accounts; when you contact me by email I have your email address. At the end of therapy, or if therapy is not pursued, I delete your email address from my list of contacts within a few weeks. Of course, you are very welcome to contact me in the future, in so doing, you would give me permission to reply.
  • I do not contact former clients for marketing purposes such as sending out newsletters.
  • I do not instigate Facebook or any other social media contact. If you choose to establish and remain in contact with me via social media I am normally happy to do so. If you choose to do this it is your responsibility to ensure the Privacy Policy of your chosen social media platform is acceptable to you.
  • My handwritten notes on your sessions are held for six years, or until you are 18, if you are aged between 10 and 12 when therapy commences. At the end of this time your records are shredded. Holding your records for this time period is necessary to resolve any legal dispute which could arise within this period.

 

The Way I Use Your Information

I treat your information as strictly confidential. I would only share your contact details, or any personal information in the following circumstances: 

·         If I am ordered to do so by a Court.

·         If I am required to do so by a Police investigation.

·         If you provide a written request for me to share specific information in a specified way, for example, with your employer or doctor. If you request me to do this I send the text to you for approval before it is sent. 

If you are a resident within the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights which are detailed below. If you wish to be removed from the system at any time, or informed what personal information I hold about you please contact me at kt.cook@btinternet.com. I do, though, retain my handwritten notes for the time period I have stated above.

Your Rights

In certain circumstances, you have the following data protection rights: 

  • The right to access, update or to delete the information I hold.
  • The right of rectification.
  • The right to object.
  • The right of restriction.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent.

Testimonials 

At present, I do not use customer testimonials. If I should do so in future this would be with written consent. Future testimonial providers would retain the right to revoke consent at any time by sending me an email requesting that this is done.

I only undertake consultations with a young person under 18 with the parent present throughout.
